Students, Parents and Guardians and Prospective Students,
Yá’átééh dóó Hwooshdéé'! “Hello, and you’re always welcome to come to Flagstaff Dorm!”
As the year winds down to only eight more weeks of school, I want to express my gratitude to all families and students who are now part of the Flagstaff Bordertown Dormitory Board, Inc. The last day of school is Thursday, June 7, 2012.
This is an invitation for prospective students to visit our school and to turn in applications. The dorm has scheduled Thursday, May 11, 2011 to hold registration for new students, and Monday, May 14, 2012 as a day for currently enrolled students to update their applications.
Good news! The application has been streamlined to be more parent-friendly.
Kinlani has 105 students, and 44 are making the honor roll of 3.0 GPA and better, or 41.9%. Out of 102 students from last school year, 52 were making the honor, or 53%. Our goal is to have 50% or more of the students making the honor roll by the end of the year.
Please continue to help us encourage your children to reach higher goals. I have been telling them they have to try 2-5 times as hard in order to succeed in school and the future.
Kinlani Dorm will close during the scheduled Snow Day Make Up days of May 11 and re-open May 14th until further notice, so be prepared to check out your child for the long weekend.
Here is the Mission Statement for Flagstaff Bordertown Dormitory: “It is the mission of the Flagstaff Bordertown Dormitory to prepare and empower all students for the choices and challenges they will face in the future by providing a positive, healthy, social and educational environment which is based on Native American knowledge and language.”
